Waite for Us- Ben + Kara, a classic garden-inspired wedding at the Columbus Athenaeum

I can’t begin to express how much I loved working with Ben + Kara for their wedding day. Their love for each other is so sweet, deeply rooted, and evident in every part of their planning and throughout the event. Out of their love for their Alma Mater, Ohio State, the couple chose a palette of scarlet + grey, but accented it with pinks, peaches, and greens to create the perfect summer color scheme. Their Buckeye pride was sprinkled throughout the rest of the day as well- Carmen Ohio was played during the ceremony, and Kara + Ben were surprised with a visit from the OSU Alumni marching band as well! Here are just a few of my favorite details from such a wonderful day- all provided by their amazing photographer- Susie Marie Photography (be sure to check her out!)View More: http://susiemariephotography.pass.us/waite-for-usWe wanted to honor Ben’s request for an invitation that wasn’t overly girly. The result was this sweet and simple monogrammed invitation in black and white- with colorful envelopes to give it an extra pop, and a watercolor floral envelope liner- which you can see here.  The overall vibe of the suite was dubbed “Wes Anderson at a garden party” (and Ben and Kara were BOTH happy.)View More: http://susiemariephotography.pass.us/waite-for-usView More: http://susiemariephotography.pass.us/waite-for-uspronoviasgowndetails.jpg

David + Jenna- Minimal Elegance in Cleveland

It doesn’t get more MFEO than David + Jenna. Two stylish people, with amazing hearts and a shared love of photography and the simpler things in life. Helping them style + produce their November wedding at The Red Space in Cleveland was a dream come true.   Featured on White Mag, here, and Brides.com, here. Read on to find out more about their amazing wedding and the incredible team of creatives that brought it together. David&Jenna-wedding-396David&Jenna-wedding-413David&Jenna-wedding-511David&Jenna-wedding-515David&Jenna-wedding-362The event featured breathtaking architectural florals from Columbus, Ohio based florist Evergreen Flower Co.  I loved how her whisps of ivy trailing from the ceiling created movement, and her use of oversized cement vessels with delicate white flowers and greenery seemed to anchor the space between heaven and earth. David&Jenna-wedding-555David&Jenna-wedding-572David&Jenna-wedding-491David&Jenna-wedding-589A minimal seating chart design made with laser-cut paper, softened by a strand of winding ivy

David wrote a song for Jenna and performed it before they took their steps down the aisle. Their love for each other is so servant-hearted and sweet, this moment brought tears to my eyes. David&Jenna-wedding-931David&Jenna-wedding-1242David&Jenna-wedding-992

A Moody, bohemian Strongwater wedding you’ll love

Sasha + Corey

Sasha and Corey’s moody, bohemian Strongwater wedding will always remains one of my favorite projects.  Due to Sasha’s daring and incredible taste, and not to mention remarkable beauty, it was an honor to style her wedding. The bride described her desired wedding aesthetic as “Salem in the Spring”  as a result of it being held during Halloween weekend.  Read on to see how we made this moody, bohemian Strongwater wedding vision come to life.sashacorey-262-2sashacorey-441sashacorey-554sashacorey-934

How killer is this crocheted dress? The fringe was exquisite.

Crafted by the talented Kirsten of Bear Roots Floral, Sasha’s bouquet and floral crown (complete with bird skull) were a bohemian wedding dream. Furthermore, the naturally dyed silk ribbon made another perfect accent for her moody floral designs.

sashacorey-2088 Probably one of my favorite details was the watercolor lunar calendar I created for the seating chart. Guest’s names were written in calligraphy on individual phases of the moon. Likewise, I made dip-dyed table numbers to coordinate with the phases of the moon.sashacorey-1976

Some people have doughnut walls with long johns. In contrast, feminist brides have doughnut walls with long joans.

These are just a few of the details I helped create for my sister’s wedding. We upcycled slate tiles from a local roofing company to create rustic “chalkboard” table numbers, with a special sign for the bride and groom. One of my favorite details for the evening was the pom-pom send off. Rebekah wanted something fun, and something she hadn’t seen before, and I thought Confetti System inspired paper pom-poms were the perfect way to cheer them on as they were off on their way at the end of the night!

Morgan + Andy

untitled(503of1107)  11655879_10153380858839035_2123215750_o-2
Last August I was fortunate enough to create some of the special details Morgan had planned for her wedding to Andy. A few hand-lettered chalkboard signs for the ceremony and reception (inlcuding one for the s’mores bar, yum!) and the calligraphy for the escort cards. I really enjoy creating touches for a wedding that go beyond what the bride and groom may have been expecting. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing how happy a couple is when they know the details of their wedding are coming together perfectly!
