I can’t begin to express how much I loved working with Ben + Kara for their wedding day. Their love for each other is so sweet, deeply rooted, and evident in every part of their planning and throughout the event. Out of their love for their Alma Mater, Ohio State, the couple chose a palette of scarlet + grey, but accented it with pinks, peaches, and greens to create the perfect summer color scheme. Their Buckeye pride was sprinkled throughout the rest of the day as well- Carmen Ohio was played during the ceremony, and Kara + Ben were surprised with a visit from the OSU Alumni marching band as well! Here are just a few of my favorite details from such a wonderful day- all provided by their amazing photographer- Susie Marie Photography (be sure to check her out!)We wanted to honor Ben’s request for an invitation that wasn’t overly girly. The result was this sweet and simple monogrammed invitation in black and white- with colorful envelopes to give it an extra pop, and a watercolor floral envelope liner- which you can see here. The overall vibe of the suite was dubbed “Wes Anderson at a garden party” (and Ben and Kara were BOTH happy.)
Kara selected her gown at B.Loved Bridal boutique- it was a fun and unexpected choice and absolutely drop dead gorgeous.
the flowers from Madison House in Columbus were so rich and textured- absolutely gorgeous.
an epic cookie table accented with Buckeyes (of course), gorgeous florals- and lightbox signs!these two.
One of my favorite details of the event- pulling off a huge surprise with Kara’s parents with a performance from the OSU Alumni Marching Band.
